Find out about BeaversIn the heart of Jesmond, 17th Newcastle offers an integrated Beavers-Cubs and dedicated Scouts programme!
17th Newcastle is a friendly and growing Scout Group based in Jesmond, Newcastle upon Tyne. Founded in the late 2010s, we’re one of the newer Scout Groups in the area and are proud to be building an active, welcoming community for young people and volunteers. Based at St George’s Church in the heart of Jesmond, we currently deliver two programmes: Scouts, and an integrated Beaver and Cub programme, with young people joining us from the age of 7. Scouting is all about giving young people the chance to try new things, make friends and develop skills for life. Our programme is varied and adventurous, with everything from games, crafts and practical skills at our regular meetings to camping, sleepovers, outdoor activities and trips further afield. We aim to give every young person the opportunity to challenge themselves, discover what they’re capable of and have plenty of fun along the way. Whether it’s their first night away from home, learning a new skill, working towards a badge or sitting around a campfire with friends, there’s always something new to experience at 17th Newcastle. We’re proud to be part of the Jesmond community and of the wider Scouting family, helping the next generation develop confidence, independence and memories that will last a lifetime.
