About the place
House on the Hill sits at the highest natural point in Newcastle, just off Hillhead Road in West Denton. It is a district property: two indoor rooms, a kitchen, and a large field with a fire pit, on a site with its own car park.
It is used for meetings, training, activity days, sleepovers and camping. Groups can stay overnight indoors or under canvas on the field. No more than 60 people may be in the building at any one time.

The site has neighbours. Please keep the noise down outdoors, particularly overnight.
Leave the building as you found it — the hourly rate includes half an hour either side for exactly that.

How do we get in?
An access code is emailed to you automatically 24 hours before your booking starts. Invoices have to be paid in full two days before, so leaving payment late can hold the code up.
Can we have a campfire?
Yes, in the fire pit, or in your own fire pit if it has something underneath to protect the ground.
There is sometimes firewood on site, but it is not guaranteed — bring your own if you are relying on it.
Can we stay overnight?
Yes, either indoors or camping on the field. The downstairs room sleeps 15 to 20 depending on how much space each person needs.
One adult must stay awake through the night to raise the alarm if anything happens.
Is alcohol allowed?
No. Alcohol may not be brought onto or drunk at the property.
Can we look round before we book?
Yes. Pre-visits for risk assessments can be arranged, though somebody has to be free to let you in, so give as much notice as you can.
Can we book the same slot every week?
Yes. The district takes recurring bookings for things like weekly youth group meetings, at their own rates. Ask when you enquire.
